darkness: a vespertine card.
will this be a visual manifestation of Erebus?
will it show the indiscernible flux of avesperation?
will it invoke apricity?
“…something he carries on his back,
Which I am forbidden to see. I do not find
The Hanged Man….”

The Waste Land

I came here tickling links from WFMU’s page on the Hex Breaker Quartet, who are playing the pendu fest.
Everything i’m finding here is leaving a distinct impression on me, reflecting alot of past thoughts and adding to them in some cases.
In the case of this page, the 23rd card blinks at me – why ‘the darkness’?
I’m very interested in the symbolism used in the design of these cards in general, and though it doesn’t serve me to be a fundie in terms of a ‘one true way’ to the orthodoxy of tarot, it strikes peculiar and am now wondering if this adheres to a different set of correspondences than say, the rider/waite.
