CM is the solo project of Todd Brooks, founder of Pendu, an organization based in Brooklyn, NY that promotes occultism, adhocism, and eroticism in the arts. Besides his work in CM, he is also a member of Ghost Moth (with free-jazz legend Daniel Carter) and Abuse Report. CM uses handmade, homebuilt oscillators and feedback-loops to produce hi-frequency analogue tones over a droning low-end for the purpose of arousing visceral and ecstatic, psychical states; exploring uses of ritual in sound and sound in ritual. http://www.chaosmajik.com & http://www.myspace.com/chaosmajik
Harry Everett Smith (1923 – 1991) was an American archivist, ethnomusicologist, student of anthropology, record collector, experimental filmmaker, artist, bohemian and mystic. Smith is a well-known figure in several fields. People who know him as a filmmaker often do not know of his 1952 Anthology of American Folk Music, while folk music enthusiasts often do not know he was “the greatest living magician” according to Kenneth Anger.

ARTISTS & CATS
Artists & Cats is now in its Third Year. This time we're making a calendar. Photos will be collected until July 1, 2010. On September 1, 2010 we will release the Pendu presents: Artists & Cats 2011 calendar. More info to come.
Submissions are ongoing for the 2010 edition of Artists & Cats. Send a photo of you and your cat with your name, your cat's name, and a link to your blog, website, facebook, or myspace page to info(at)pendu.org.
The point of this exhibition is to show the relationship between cats and artists, so please only send photos of you and your cat together, not just a photo of your cat.
