PENDU brought S4LEM to Glasslands in NYC on January 5 of this year along with Chicago’s GATEKEEPER to kick off our weekly “Horror Scores for the Dancefloor” party devoted to dark-as-fuck dance music from past to present. Our friends, Russ and Kristin from “Sold Out” were at SXSW this year and interviewed S4LEM about their upcoming projects and more.

The songs that I have heard so far kick ass. I’ve been waiting a while for some good new shit in the goth genre which is what this is to me. There hasn’t been good goth bands since bauhaus and sisters of mercy era stuff. It does kind of suck that they are interested in pushing the “rap” side of their music as the only song that I’ve heard like that is “trapdoor”. The rap on that actually takes away from would be have been another standout track. Anyway..hope they tour soon and I’m really digging the tracks on the website
